Project 3.....

  1. Beautiful piece, Larry, with so much to explore and discover. It functions both as a strong first impression and as a treasure chest of cool little things for the eye to dig through.

Two minor problems: the line separating the pink area from the sky is essentially a straight line, almost as if drawn with a ruler. For a piece with such a dominance of curves and whimsy, that make this area look rigid. So I'd weave in and out more of the pink area so it's curvier. Next, I'm not sure about this, but I'll tell you: the lizard on top could be just a degree more (really not much) different than the color that's behind, so it pops just a bit more. I'm thinking of, say, Randall from Monsters, Inc. (the evil lizard) or photos of chameleons. What gives them away (although they're the same color as the background) are a few highlights and shadows. In other words, something (in this case, shading & highlights) make them "pop" a little from the background. In your case, you already have the line art. That's why I'm not sure that pushing the coloring or shading one more degree will pay off. However, it's something I believe is worth trying.

All in all, this is a super elegant illustration!
